PowerPoint Master Template

The Master template is the basis of all PowerPoint templates in primedocs. It contains slide layouts only — no content slides — and defines the corporate design framework for all presentations.

note

The primedocs Master template (pd Master) should not contain any content slides. If you import an existing presentation, delete all content slides after the import.

Creating

1. In primedocs Desktop, activate the administration view and select «New Template».
2. Give the template a name and select «PowerPoint Master Template» (Microsoft PowerPoint category).
3. Open the template editor, click Editor and import the PowerPoint file with the slide layouts.
4. Delete all content slides — the Master template contains layouts only.

Document Functions

On the Master template, activate at least these two Document Functions:

• Placeholder Definitions — declares placeholder fields that content templates populate.
• Slide Layout — defines and names the available slide layouts.

Linking with other template types

All other PowerPoint template types (content, slide, table of contents, asset gallery, chart template) are linked to the Master template via the «Based on» field.
