Q: How do I start primedocs for the first time?
Depending on how primedocs is used in your organisation, you can access it in one of these ways:
- primedocs Web — open your organisation's primedocs URL in a browser and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account.
- Office Web Add-In — open Word, Excel, Outlook, or PowerPoint in the browser or desktop app and find the primedocs add-in in the ribbon or sidebar.
- primedocs Desktop — launch the primedocs Desktop application on your Windows PC. It synchronises automatically when it starts.
On first login, your user account is created automatically based on your Active Directory or Entra ID identity. Contact your administrator if you cannot sign in.
Q: How do I change my profile?
In primedocs Web and the Office Web Add-In, click your name or profile picture at the top of the interface and select a different profile from the list.
In primedocs Desktop, open the Organisation tab in the ribbon and select the desired profile.

Q: How do I change the interface language?
In primedocs Web and the Office Web Add-In, open the settings (gear icon or user menu) and select your preferred language.
In primedocs Desktop, go to Settings → Language in the Backstage or options menu.
Q: What do I do if my user data is incorrect?
User data such as your name, phone number, or email address is typically synchronised from your organisation's Active Directory or Entra ID. If the data is incorrect, the source record in the directory system must be corrected by your IT department. Once corrected, primedocs picks up the change automatically during the next synchronisation.
If you need to override a field locally — for example, a different display of your name — contact your primedocs administrator, who can adjust individual profile fields directly.
Q: I cannot find a template. What should I do?
Templates are shown based on your profile and the permissions assigned to your user or group. If a template you expect to see is missing:
- Make sure you have selected the correct profile.
- Ask your administrator to verify that your user or group has been granted access to the template.
Q: My document has incorrect data. What went wrong?
Check which profile was active when the document was generated. If the wrong profile was selected, generate the document again with the correct profile. If the profile data itself is incorrect, see the answer above about incorrect user data.
Q: Can I save a document and continue editing it later?
Yes. Generated documents are standard Office files (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx) that can be saved anywhere — OneDrive, SharePoint, or a local folder — and edited like any other Office document. primedocs is only used at the moment of generation.
